Au Pays de Réal Massé,
then and now
Based in Saint-Zénon in the Lanaudière region, this outfitter was founded in 1928 as “Club de Chasse et de Pêche Léonard Bellerose.” Nearly 60 years later, in 1986, hunting and fishing enthusiast Réal Massé purchased the property with a dream in mind: to create an industry landmark.
Only 6 months later, disaster struck and a terrible fire ravaged the outfitter, leaving Mr. Massé hospitalized. Thankfully, this dedicated, visionary builder never gave up and set about rebuilding his dream the following February. His goal: to rebuild the inn and cottages in time for the opening of the fishing season in May. It was a tall order, and one that Réal Massé and his team met with flying colours.
40 years later, Au Pays de Réal Massé is still run by the family and is one of the most coveted hunting and fishing estates in Quebec. Mr. Massé’s daughter Nancy, her husband Gilles, their daughter Stéphanie, her wife Karina, and the entire team are involved at every stage in developing the outfitter’s offering, with a focus on preserving its essence and ensuring that the founder’s legacy lives on.
More than ever, we’re happy to say that all roads lead to Réal Massé!
